On January 3, 2025, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Salman Dogo Garba, decorated two senior officers with the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP). The decorated officers are Sanusi Abubakar, Aide-De-Camp (ADC) to the Governor, and Rabi’u Shitu Umar, Escort Commander to the Governor.
*2.* The promotion, which was released by the Police Service Commission in a letter dated December 18, 2024, is based on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police.
*3. Biography of the Decorated Officers*
– *SP Sanusi Abubakar:* Born on May 14, 1990, in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, SP Sanusi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Kaduna State University. He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2016 and has served in various capacities, including Divisional Traffic Officer, Acting Divisional Police Officer, Police Public Relations Officer, Aide De Camp to the Executive Governor of Kano State.
– *SP Rabi’u Shitu Umar:* Born in 1989, hails from Kiru LGA, Kano State. SP Rabi’u holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bayero University, Kano (BUK). He began his Police career in 2016 and has served as a Divisional Crime Office (DCO), Unit Commander, and Escort Commander to the Executive Governor of Kano State.
*4. Governor’s Congratulations and Commissioner’s Charge*
The Executive Governor congratulated and commended the officers for their commitment and dedication to duty, which earned them the promotion. The Commissioner of Police charged the officers to redouble their efforts in ensuring safety and security, as higher rank comes with higher responsibilities.
