New Board Chairman Pledges To Advance Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital.

Alhaji Bashir Usman Gumel, the newly appointed Board Chairman of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital (MAUTH), commenced his tenure with an official visit to the Yola facility today, signaling a commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

Chairman Gumel was received by Chief Medical Director (CMD) Professor Adamu Bakari Girei, and the Top Management Committee (TMC), who provided a comprehensive briefing on the hospital’s operations and infrastructure. The visit included an extensive tour of the hospital’s departments, laboratories, and facilities, both completed and ongoing.

Professor Girei welcomed Chairman Gumel and pledged the full support of the hospital administration in fulfilling his mandate.

Chairman Gumel later paid a courtesy call to His Highness, the Lamido of Adamawa,Alhaji Muhammad Mustapha Barkindo who assured the new Chairman of the Emirate’s full cooperation.

“I thank the Lamido of Adamawa for his warm reception and pledge to work wholeheartedly for the development and advancement of Modibbo Adama University Teaching Hospital,” Chairman Gumel stated. He also expressed his gratitude to Professor Girei and the hospital staff, promising a collaborative approach to drive progress.

The Chairman’s delegation included Honourable Nazifi Sani, Member of the House of Representatives for Gumel/Maigatari/Sule Tankarkar, Abubakar Isah Maiha Ph.d, Chairman board katsina teaching hospitaland other prominent public and political figures, underscoring the significance of this appointment and the commitment to improving healthcare services in the region.
