PROTOCOL
I’m truly honoured to address this distinguished gathering on the occasion of the United Nations International Day of Living Together in Peace, with the theme “Action for Peace: Our Commitment to the Global Goals.” This event is a testament to our collective commitment to fostering harmony and cooperation among diverse communities for the betterment of our world.

2. I commend the Arewa Youth Protection, Unity, and Peaceful Forum for organizing this event and for their tireless efforts in promoting peace and unity within our society. Their dedication to building bridges of understanding and collaboration is commendable and serves as a shining example for others to follow.

3. Participants, Invited Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen you are all aware that today’s world is unfortunately marked by complex challenges and conflicts, and there is need for the greater number of youths who are the future of tomorrow across the globe to be embarking on peace and unity missions. It is then incumbent upon all of us to work together toward creating a more peaceful and harmonious world for present and future generations.

4. As law enforcement officers, we have a crucial role to play in maintaining the peace and security within our communities. It is our responsibility to uphold the rule of law, protect the rights of all individuals, and prevent conflicts from escalating. Hence, security is pivotal and collective responsibility. And this is why we must work closely with the community leaders, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders so we can effectively address the root causes of violence and build a just and inclusive society.

5. On this International Day of Living Together in Peace, let us reaffirm our commitment to the global goals of peace, security, and sustainable development. Let us also stand together in solidarity, respecting each other’s differences, and celebrating our shared feelings of humanity. I’m confident that together, we can create a world where peace reigns supreme and where all individuals can live in dignity and in harmony.

6. In conclusion, I urge all of you to join hands in taking concrete actions for finding the peace we want within our communities and on the global scale. Let us be the architects of a better future, where understanding and compassion prevail over hatred and divisions.

7. Thank you and may this event make the difference and be the pillar for building a more peaceful world for the good of all.
