WOFAN HAS DISTRIBUTED BAND BICYCLES TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY TO MARK WOMEN INTERNATIONAL DAY

Section of no fewer than fifteen women living with disabilities in Kura local government area of Kano state dumped street begging set to become interprenuars.

This is as the Women Farmers Association WOFAN-ICON2 project empowered them with skills and new band bicycles, as part of the celebrations for the 2024 International Women’s Day.

In an interview with correspondent, some of the beneficiaries pledged to abandon begging after their interaction with Hajiya Salamu Garba who trained them in various skills to enhance their livelihoods.

Speaking at the event in Kura, the executive Director WOFAN, Hajiya Salamatu Garba, emphasized the importance of inclusivity for persons with disabilities (PWDs) in society and enabled them to live independently like any other.

However, Salamatu Garba asked district head of Kura, Alhaji Abubakar Tijjani Abubakar, Dokajin Rano, to provide solar-powered boreholes to improve access to clean water.
